Adlib supplies audio gear for Lawson’s UK tour

Rental specialist Adlib provided audio equipment for pop-rock group Lawson’s recent UK tour, which included a big ‘homecoming’ show at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

Adlib were chosen as technical supplier, in partnership with James Sharpe, Andrew Thornton and John Pryer from 24/7 Productions.

"We were really pleased to be working with Lawson. It’s been brilliant to watch the band’s live career evolve over the last two years and Adlib is proud to be part of the team," said Phil Kielty of Adlib. "Everyone on the crew was a pleasure to work with and the Coda ViRAY system proved a perfect choice for the varying sized venues, being compact yet delivering fantastic results every day…the perfect complement to Vince Foster’s vibrant lighting design.”

Adlib’s Kenny Perrin handled PA tech duties for the tour, dealing with the sound system set-up and tech’ing the monitors, with assistance from the band’s engineers Andrew Williamson (FOH) and Craig Pryde (monitors).

In the larger venues the PA hangs consisted of 12 x ViRAY speakers a side, along with four ground-stacked Coda SCPF subs, and another four in the middle where required. Extra ViRAY speakers were deployed as lip fills along the front of stage.

All processing was delivered via Adlib’s standard Lake LM44 and LM26 racks, which utilised Coda C10 amps and DNC-260 processors.

Both engineers also selected Avid Profile consoles for the gigs.

At monitor world the band used Sennheiser in-ear monitors, as well as their own custom moulds, while Adlib’s new MP4 wedges were brought in for the support acts.
