AIM reveals full speaker line-up for Women In Music 2018 event

The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has revealed the full speaker line-up for its upcoming Women In Music event in January.

The 10th AIM Women in Music event, taking place at London City Hall on 17 January 2018, will celebrate the successes and examine the challenges of women in the music industry.

The night will begin with a keynote interview with former Spice Girl Melanie C, followed by a keynote address entitled ‘Diversity is Good For You’ from UK Music Diversity Taskforce co-chair Paulette Long OBE. There will then be two panel discussions; the first of which is ‘Women in the Studio’, which will see a selection of producers, engineers, mixers and songwriters discuss the rarity of women in studio roles and how they have built their careers in a notoriously male-dominated sector.

Speakers on this panel will include Steph Marziano (Denai Moore, Mumford & Sons), Dr Mariana Lopez (lecturer in Sound production & Post Production, University of York), Isabel Gracefield Grundy (Emeli Sande, Tom Odell), Marta Salogni (Bjork, Sampha), mastering engineer Katie Tavini, Women Produce Music founder Katia Isakoff and panel chair K-Minor.

The second panel discussion, ‘Female Entrepreneurship in Music’, will see a selection of female music business founders discuss how and why they established their own company and how they’ve achieved success, before the event concludes with networking drinks.

The event will take place on 17 January 2018 from 5.30pm – 10pm at London’s Living Room, City Hall, The Queen’s Walk, London, SE1 2AA.
