All We Need Is Radio GaGa

The Institute of Professional Sound (IPS) will hold its annual training weekend at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, UK on 9th and 10th February. This year’s event is called Radio Ga Ga, and will attempt to demystify the world of RF.

The weekend will cover basic RF theory, radio mics, IEMs, radio communications/links and how they all fit together. Drawing on industry experience, sessions will debunk popular myths and explain best practice. Many sessions will be practical, allowing delegates to handle equipment and take part in listening tests. Spectrum planning and the legal side of RF will also be covered. The future will be discussed, looking into digital radio and large area diversity systems. Evaluations of differing analogue and digital systems will take place throughout the weekend, and conclusions discussed in a final question and answer session.
