Allen & Heath iLive chosen for new German cultural centre

Britz Castle in Berlin-Neukölln, Germany, has recently undergone a full conversion into a new cultural centre, with an Allen & Heath iLive system installed in its 300-capacity concert and theatre hall.

The spec was for a digital system that could be used easily by sound engineers of guest productions, whilst offering portability in order to service not just the hall but also other areas in the venue. Furthermore, the system needed to be flexible and simple to configure, with the option to have wireless control for smaller events.

The iLive system comprises a Dante-enabled iDR-32 MixRack with iLive-T80 Control Surface, plus a PL-10 rotary panel for remote control. According to Dirk Förster from installation company System Integration Berlin, iLive’s price-effectiveness, built in compressor and EQ, as well as the possibility of the live recording of events via a laptop through the Dante interface, were the main reasons it was selected. He explained: "iLive meets all requirements and expectations. The system is light weight, which made the installation easy, and has amazing technical flexibility.”
