Audio Media February Digital Edition out now

2014 has gotten off to a running start in the pro-audio industry with some major announcements coming out of the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim (get the scoop on our pick of the top releases here).

Yet, with BVE and huge broadcast productions such as the 2014 Sochi Olympics looming our attention turned to the broadcast audio professional with Kevin Hilton exploring the changes and advancements in broadcast production workflow and Will Strauss diving into the topic of how top TV mixers deal with the rise in tablet viewership.

Continuing the broadcast theme, our February tech focus provides an overview of the current offering for loudness metering with a preface from HHB’s director of sales Martin O’Donnell.

Away from the world of broadcast we also cover the gamut of studios with game audio specialist John Broomhall checking out the new audio facilities at Lionhead studios (the developers behind the acclaimed Fable series) while Jake Young heads to east London to chat with Rupert Pfaff, owner of The Limehouse studios.

All this plus an interview with Grammy Award-winning recording engineer Jakob Ha?ndel, a look at the new Denmark Street Studios, our new Consulting Editor Jim Evans’ take on the industry, a feature on the Chinese pro-audio industry, a preview of the upcoming BVE show, and a special look at the sound design from the blockbuster Gravity

As always, the February issue of Audio Media is loaded full of informative, real world reviews, including a through look at the latest offerings from Rode microphones, PMC’s two two.8, Sony’s latest portable recorder, Universal Audio’s Fairchild Tube Limiter plug-in collection, and a nifty talkback solution from 2Q and Source.
