Audio Pro International and Audio Media to join forces in 2015

As part of a substantial programme of investment across print, online and events, API is merging with sister title Audio Media to form Audio Media International.

Audio Media International (AMI) will offer a combination of Audio Media’s 25-year print heritage and the unrivalled online strength of Audio Pro International, creating the leading technology resource for the pro-audio end user.

The first issue of the publication will hit desks in January 2015, accompanied by a new website – www.audiomediainternational.com.

As well as covering the recording, post-production and broadcast markets – Audio Media‘s specialist areas – AMI will also serve the live and commercial install sectors, where Audio Pro International has always been patricularly strong.

Audio Media International will deliver a wide variety of in-depth industry content, including product news and reviews, a ‘how-to’ section, real-world end-user case studies, show coverage, technology focuses and features in a highly accessible format. Key figures from across the industry will offer their thought leadership on important issues in an Opinion section.

Along with a fresh print magazine, Audio Media International will offer a new, custom-built, responsive website that can be easily navigated across a range of devices.

The site will be updated with new content daily, with the latest news delivered to inboxes every morning via the Audio Media International Daily newsletter, based on the successful API Daily.

By bringing the two titles and their databases together, the reach of AMI will be extensive, both across the various pro-audio market sectors and geographically. The daily newsletter will go out to more than 30,000 readers globally, while the print circulation is set at 7,500.

API editor Adam Savage, who is taking on the editor role for AMI, said: “Having been editor of Audio Pro International for the past two years, I truly believe that joining forces with Audio Media allows us to create an exciting new publication that will become an essential resource for audio professionals in all areas of the business.

“It may be a new title, but with Audio Pro International’s global online influence, especially in the live and install sectors, and Audio Media’s excellent reputation in recording, post and broadcast, I am very confident that we can deliver a service that the industry has been waiting for.”

Joanne Ruddock, managing editor of AM and API, added: “Both Audio Media and Audio Pro International are well-respected titles in their fields. By combining the online strength of API with Audio Media’s print focus we are creating a brand that fulfills the needs of the entire market.

“We believe the information needs of the pro-audio technical community are best served via a single, specialist, long-standing brand. The new-look, redesigned Audio Media International will continue to fulfill our readers’ information needs, both now and in the future.”

Audio Media International will also continue to produce Audio Media’s highly regarded Buyer’s Guide series of print supplements, with Microphones, Theatre Sound, Monitors and Headphones and Live Consoles all up for detailed analysis in 2015. The Guides will feature product information, market overviews, contact directories and more.
