Audio-Technica looks back on an exciting 2011

Having enjoyed a truly memorable 2011, Audio-Technica’s Harvey Roberts discusses some of the key moments for the company over the past 12 months.

In a year, which has seen the company on the receiving end of numerous award successes, including the API Award for Best Studio Product – Microphone in the Studio and Broadcast category for the BP4001, as well as having been selected as the exclusive supplier of microphones for the 2012 Olympic Games, Audio-Technica certainly has much to celebrate as the year draws to a close.

Furthermore, the company also has plenty to look forward to in 2012, what with the rapidly approaching Olympics Games and the brand’s upcoming 50th anniversary. So, with this in mind, we caught up with Audio-Technica’s senior UK marketing manager, as he discussed his highlights of 2011 and his hopes for 2011.

“2011 has been an exciting year for Audio-Technica in many respects. Moving into our new larger office and warehouse facility in July has made day-to-day operations easier and more comfortable – and we’ve been nominated for and won various awards this year, which is also gratifying,” he commented.

“Our Broadcast & Production mics have fared particularly well in the awards stakes, and with Audio-Technica exclusively supplying microphones for the 2012 London Games, many of these models will be bringing the world’s biggest sporting event into viewer’s homes next year.

“If the Olympics weren’t enough, 2012 is also Audio-Technica’s 50th anniversary. There are some beautiful limited edition microphones on their way to celebrate the milestone, and we’ll also be launching some of our finest high-end models ever. So 2012 promises to be a busy year, but one we’re very much looking forward to.”
