Bonnaroo festival to return in September 2021

The Bonnaroo festival will go ahead in September 2021 after being cancelled due to the pandemic in 2020.

The event in Manchester, Tennessee will run over Labor Day weekend on 2-5 September, having been rescheduled from its usual time slot in June.

Foo Fighters, Lizzo and Tyler, The Creator will lead the lineup of September’s Bonnaroo, along with support from the likes of Run the Jewels, Janelle Monae and Tame Impala.

The return of the festival coincides with the Bonnaroo’s 20th anniversary this year.

The event will feature “enhanced health and safety measures for you, our artists and employees”, according to the ‘COVID-19 Warning’ section of its website, though it doesn’t go into any details about what measure will be taken.

The 2019 Bonnaroo festival played host to 100,000 music fans.

Bonnaroo is one of the first major festivals to confirm a full line-up for 2021, with many events such as Coachella, still to officially confirm whether they will go ahead this year or wait until 2022 to resume.

Ahead of September’s Bonnaroo festival, the organisers will host the ’Concerts on the Farm’ series starting in May where fans will be separated into socially distanced groups.
