Break-in at Audeze factory, $250K of headphones stolen

Around $250,000 worth of headphones were stolen from the Audeze factory in Costa Mesa, California on Saturday night (28 February 2015).

The thieves were able to bypass the manufacturer’s security system, and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The new EL8 headphones from the firm – maker of high-end cans for professional engineers, music producers and audiophiles – had been due to ship, but were left in an area that remained untouched.

Audeze is asking for people to look out for the company’s LCD headphones on sale from non-authorised dealers for prices that seem "too good to be true." The LCD-2, for example, is usually priced at around $995.

A $10,000 reward is being offered to anyone with any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the culprits. If you think you might be able to help, contact

Serial numbers of all the missing products are expected to be released soon.
