BVE 2012: Neutrik showcases opticamSWITCH

Connector design specialist Neutrik is now showcasing its opticamSWITCH fibre optic camera routing system at BVE 2012.

Launched at the IBC 2011 show in Amsterdam, and now on display at London’s Earls Court for the Broadcast Video Expo 2012 event, Neutrik’s opticamSWITCH is designed to provide the ideal solution for fibre optic camera routing within broadcast studios. The device allows switching of unlimited camera positions between several studios and control rooms, therefore eliminating any need for high-maintenance, risky matrix patch fields using SMPTE patch cables.

Furthermore, the opticamSWITCH works on trendsetting, silica-based PLC (planar lightwave circuits) equipped with TO (thermo optic) switches. Its patent pending design is intended to guarantee rugged and safe non-blocking fiber plus camera power switching without any moving parts.

The LAN-based remote control software is designed to simplify work, shows switching and camera status, and enables broadcast production automation.
