BVE NORTH: R?de premieres new Reporter microphone

Source Distribution has been hosting the world premiere of the new Røde Reporter microphone in Manchester this week.

The Reporter is a die-cast dynamic hand-held interview microphone voiced primarily for speech. Due to its omnidirectional pickup pattern, the Reporter is free of the technique-related voicing issues that can occur with end-addressed alternatives. A multi-layer mesh basket removes the need for a separate foam windshield to protect against environmental noise, and all Reporter microphones are supplied with a soft carry case and removable ‘Flag’ to accommodate prominent branding for video use.

The brand is exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Source Distribution. Alex Theakston, marketing co-ordinator for Source, commented: “Røde have a knack for making highly affordable microphones without compromise, due in no small part to their impressive manufacturing facilities in their headquarters in Silverwater, Sydney.

"The Reporter is a welcome addition to a hugely popular roster of mics, and bolstered by its inclusion in Røde’s new web-based SoundBooth audio demo application, we have no doubt it will start making an impact once broadcast professionals at BVE and beyond hear its results for themselves."

The Reporter will be widely available in the UK and Ireland from February 2013, and is covered by Røde’s ten-year warranty.

Visitors are invited to come and test the Reporter microphone during BVE North 2012 at Source Distribution’s Stand – E17.
