Dubai’s Iris nightclub bolstered by new Turbosound TCX system

Audio designer Joe Chidiac of Pulse Middle East has installed a new Turbosound TCX series loudspeaker system at the Iris Club in Dubai.

Pulse is currently building a reputation for high quality club installs, having successfully completed similar projects at the city’s Diablo nightclub and Café del Mar recently. Chidiac based his system design around the TCX contracting loudspeakers, which feature integral rigging points, rotatable high frequency waveguides, barrier strip connectors and a variety of colour options.

The passive 15” TCX-15 two-way full range speaker and TCX-15B 15” bandpass sub were picked as the optimum solution for the venue. An additional four Milan M15 powered portable loudspeakers can be moved around and deployed wherever needed.

Iris is now equipped with 28 TCX-15s and 16 TCX-15B subwoofers in total, covering approximately 600 square metres of floor space to create an up-front sounding surround system.

The speakers are powered by ten RACKDP-50 four-channel digital amps with built-in DSP, and the configuration for the venue was loaded initially from the factory presets, which were then optimised with slight frequency band adjustment. Delay was dialed in to provide a cohesive and balanced sound throughout the venue.

“The RACKDP-50 was the best choice for us with its ease of configuration, allowing us to tune and complete the project in record time,” Chidiac commented. “The owner, Maher Arabi, was really pleased with the result, and this marks another successful project for Pulse Middle East and Turbosound.”
