Dynacord raises the bar at Polish football stadium

Polish football club Gliwicki Klub Sportowy Piast Gliwice’s new 10,000-seater stadium will boast a Dynacord audio system.

The Stadion Piast, which is due for completion at the end of this year, will be the first stadium in the Silesia region to comply with UEFA’s stringent regulations for international stadia, including those dealing with sound reinforcement and evacuation systems.

The Breslau branch of Polish Dynacord distributor Tommex Zebrowscy was commissioned to design and install the new system. Following a close examination of the systems deployed by a number of competitors, the Tommex team, led by Marcin Zimny, decided on an almost entirely Dynacord-based system.

The managers of the stadium had requested a solution whereby the pro sound and evacuation systems were combined. One of the key elements of this solution is the P64 Audio Matrix Manager; a modular, network-capable and freely configurable audio system controller. The P64 allows an audio network with 32 channels to be configured and controlled via Ethernet and IRIS-Net software, enabling the stadium to independently address the needs of the grandstands, stadium interiors, VIP boxes, dressing rooms and entrance area.

In order to supply the necessary power and flexibility to required to adapt to this range of applications, the Tommex team decided to add to the six Dynacord DSA 8805s with two DSA 8405 multi-channel power amps. Each of these are remotely controlled and monitored via an RCM 810 module, designed to provide optimum levels of intelligibility throughout the stadium.
