Entertainment company looks to dBTechnologies in Argentina

Argentinian rental company Wanzo Producciones specified dBTechnologies’ DVA T12 and T4 line arrays for leisure company Grupo Slots’ annual closing event last month in La Punta.

The event consisted of prize draws beamed across Argentina to each of the group’s casino halls, culminating in a music show at La Punta’s Hippodrome, featuring singer Abel Pintos and 15-piece band La Konga performing to a 48,000 strong audience.

Wanzo Producciones’ PA set up consisted of 16 DVA T12s and 16 DVA T4s plus a further eight DVA T4s as outfill. Rental company owner Sebastian Wanzo, said: “The result was excellent. Everyone was impressed with the clarity as well as the dispersion of the sound.”

The company’s audio team had tested the newest dBTechnologies line array at smaller venues, but this was the first large event to utilise DVA T12s. Wanzo commented: “The DVA T12 and T4 integrated very well together. With the short throw of the DVA T4 and the long throw of the T12 together in one system, it gave us optimum coverage.”

dBTechnologies export area manager Fernando Roitman, explained: “It’s easy to add to an existing DVA system, as the DVA T12 is compatible with the T4. For example, both systems’ driver sections are in line so that they generate phase-correct, high-frequency additions allowing T4 to serve as down-fill extensions in large systems.”

The event was supported by local distribution partner Todomusica, which, in the space of just over a year, has been instrumental in generating substantial interest in the dBTechnologies brand in Argentina. Business development manager Giovanni Barbieri, said: “Thanks to Todomusica we are able to reach important customers like Wanzo Producciones, who helps us realise big projects and further establish the brand in this market.”

Eliseo Cuciniello, Todomusica’s professional audio manager confirmed:, “We are very happy with dBTechnologies. I have never seen a brand grow in such a short time.”

Due to the event’s success, Wanzo is keen to make sure the DVA T4s and T12s are fully utilised. “We have a lot of projects in the pipeline, including the San Luis Rio Carnival, and we intend use dBTechnologies. The brand is a great success in Argentina and we have ensured that some of the best artists of the country have already used its products.” Wanzo concluded.
