Epiphone expands Billie Joe Armstrong signature Les Paul Junior worldwide

Epiphone has announced the worldwide availability of the limited-edition Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior in Radiant Red, extending access to the Green Day frontman’s latest signature model through authorised Epiphone dealers, Gibson Garage locations and the company’s online store. The launch follows strong anticipation from fans of Armstrong’s long-standing minimalist approach to electric guitar design.

Developed in collaboration with Armstrong, the instrument reflects the straightforward formula that has defined much of his career: a single pickup, master volume and tone controls, and a no-frills layout designed to prioritise performance over complexity. The model is based on the classic Les Paul Junior platform, an instrument that has become closely associated with the guitarist both in the studio and on stage.

Construction centres on a single-cutaway mahogany body paired with a set mahogany neck featuring a substantial 1950s Vintage profile. A rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets is complemented by Vintage Deluxe tuners, a Graph Tech nut and Armstrong’s signature reproduced on the rear of the headstock.

At the heart of the guitar is an Epiphone P-90 PRO pickup, selected to deliver the dynamic response and midrange bite synonymous with Armstrong’s recordings. CTS potentiometers handle the master volume and tone functions, while a nickel-plated Lightning Bar wraparound bridge is intended to maximise sustain and resonance. The instrument ships with a custom black hardshell case featuring a distinctive leopard-print interior.

Armstrong has long relied on Les Paul Junior models throughout Green Day’s career, with vintage Gibson examples forming a key part of his touring and recording rig. His preference for stripped-back instruments has influenced several previous Gibson and Epiphone signature releases, making the latest model a continuation of an established partnership between the artist and the Gibson family of brands.

The new release arrives as Green Day continues to perform to arena audiences worldwide, with the company positioning the guitar as an accessible instrument for players seeking Armstrong’s signature sound and aesthetic. Available for a limited production run, the Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior is now on sale globally through Epiphone’s authorised retail network, Gibson Garage locations in Nashville and London, and via Epiphone’s online store.
