Flood, Paul Epworth and Ethan Johns among high-profile nominees for tonight?s MPG Awards

The great and good from the world of music production are set to descend on London’s Cafe de Paris tonight (February 16th), as the Music Producers Guild 2012 ceremony prepares to celebrate the industry’s finest achievements.

The coveted Producer of the Year Award sees revered producers Flood, Paul Epworth and Ethan Johns up for nomination, while Dan Austin, Haydn Bendall and Geoff Foster occupy the shortlist for the Recording Engineer of the Year Award.

Furthermore, the winner of the Music Producers Guild’s Producer of the Year Award also receives a BRIT Award for Best Producer, and both awards will be presented at the MPG’s Awards ceremony.

MPG chairman Steve Levine, said: “An MPG Award is highly coveted by recording professionals because it represents an endorsement by your peers. Whilst anyone can nominate, only full members of the MPG are allowed to vote for the shortlist and therefore the results are relevant to the creative value of our industry. To win an MPG Award shows that you recognised to be at the top of your game as a recording professional.”

Audio Pro International will provide a full rundown of the evening’s developments and big winners.
