Former Yamaha managing director appointed Nexo CEO

Nexo will start 2015 under new leadership, with Jean Mullor taking the reins at the loudspeaker manufacturer.

Mullor comes to Nexo from Yamaha Music Europe, where he has spent nearly four years as managing director of its French subsidiary, in charge of the domestic distribution of musical instruments, commercial audio products, AV equipment and music schools network development.

Yoshi Tsugawa, who has guided the company for the past three and a half years, is returning to Japan, where he will take up new responsibilities as general manager for Band & Orchestra products in Yamaha’s MI and Audio Sales and Marketing Group.

Trained as a lawyer, Mullor brings with him a wealth of management experience. Before joining the Japanese firm in 1992, he worked for US petrochemical giant Mobil. Over the years, he has augmented his legal expertise with HR, logistics, finance, sales and marketing knowledge.

Mullor sees his appointment as “a remarkable opportunity to join a company that has a 30-year record of technical achievement and an industry-leading reputation. With its flagship technology making inroads at the very top of the international market, and a slate of new products scheduled for release, these are exciting times for Nexo, and I’m looking forward to being part of its talented team.”
