Genelec wins TEC Award with 1238CF DSP monitor

Genelec was among the big winners at this year’s TEC Awards, having picked up the Outstanding Technical Achievement in Studio Monitor Technology gong for its 1238CF DSP monitor.

The 27th annual awards were presented by the TEC Foundation at the NAMM 2012 show in Anaheim, California. Winners were chosen by members of the professional audio and sound production community following an online vote.

“Winning a TEC Award is the real seal of approval from the audio industry,” said Terho Savalainen, marketing manager at Genelec. “The winners are chosen directly by the audio professionals and we are delighted to build on our past success at the TEC Awards with a win for the 1238CF.”

Genelec’s 1238CF has already attracted substantial industry recognition, having also succeeded in the Best Studio Monitor category of the Audio Pro International Awards.

The compact three-way DSP monitor is compatible with proprietary Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) control software and can be combined with Genelec 8200/7200 Series products in the same control network. Furthermore, the 1038CF is optimised for systems utilising one or more subwoofers in medium sized control rooms and is primarily suited for music recording studios, film and video post-production and general broadcasting monitoring, as well as for mastering suites. It is also designed to perform both as a free-standing monitor and flush mounted into the control room wall.
