Golden At Grammys

The 55th annual Grammy Awards took place on 10 February at the Staples Center, Los Angeles. Record of the Year went to Gotye for Somebody That I Used To Know. The Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, was given to Dan Auerbach, guitarist and vocalist of rock duo The Black Keys (who won awards for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, plus best Album for El Camino). Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, was The Goat Rodeo Sessions, which was engineered by Richard King; and Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical, was given to the Skrillex and Nero remix, Promises. Best Surround Sound Album went to Modern Cool, with Jim Anderson Credited as Surround Mix Engineer, Darcy Proper as the Surround Mastering Engineer, and Michael Friedman as Surround Producer. Best Engineered Album, Classical was Life & Breath – Choral Works by René Clausen, engineered by Tom Caulfield and John Newton, with Mark Donahue as Mastering Engineer. The Producer of the Year, Classical award was presented to Blanton Alspaugh.
