IBC 2013: AKG introduces C4500 BC broadcast mic

AKG has launched its Project Studio Line C4500 BC broadcast microphone – designed for in-studio, on-air broadcast applications – at IBC 2013.

The new mic offers a cardioid pickup pattern, with a low proximity effect and integrated multilayer pop filter.

It also meets the strictest requirements of digital audio through its ultra-low 8dB-A self-noise and 145/165 dB SPL capacity. The C4500 BC’s acoustical design and front-end address means it can be used for simple on-air broadcast work and easy positioning in front of bass drums, upright bass, and other instruments. The microphone’s three-stage filter and low up-close bass boost allows it to be positioned close to sources, capturing the target sound with plenty of accuracy.

“The latest Project Studio line has had a successful introduction into the broadcast industry and continues to provide DJs, radio hosts and other users a quality sound for live and recorded performances,” said Kent Iverson, director of marketing and product development at AKG. “During IBC, we will demonstrate the C4500 BC’s advanced technology, quality and reliability to prospective users, hoping to increase production quality for all forms of broadcast, worldwide.”

The IBC 2013 exhibition is taking place at Amsterdam RAI in the Netherlands from September 13th – 17th. Keep an eye on the Audio Pro International website for more updates from the event.
