ICYMI: Check out the Top 10 stories on AMI this week

It’s been another busy week in the world of pro audio, so we’ve rounded up some of the biggest stories from the past seven days just in case there’s anything you may have missed.

Unsurprisingly, one of the most popular announcements from the past week was the launch of AMI’s Next Generation Spotlight, in association with Genelec. This exciting new initiative is designed to celebrate the incredible talent breaking into the industry, shining a spotlight some of the most talented up and coming engineers and producers in the market.

Our long read on the return of theatre to the west end also captured the headlines, as we delved inside the socially-distanced production of the aptly titled Songs For A New World at the legendary London Palladium last weekend. Here we spoke to the production firm at the heart of the production, Robins Audio, as well as theatre actor and director John Schwab about what was an ‘emotional and overwhelming’ event.

Meanwhile, mastering engineer and AMI columnist Katie Tavini’s debut column on how to tackle creative challenges through COVID captured the industry’s imagination, as did news that Meyer Sound has just deployed its largest ever Constellation system in the US.

Also dominating the headlines this week was news of the second round of distribution from the government’s Culture Recovery Fund.
