Introducing The Church Studios 3

The Church Studios in Crouch End, north London has reopened for a brand new era under the ownership of UK producer Paul Epworth.

The beating heart of this historic and spectacular building is The Church Studios 1, an epic tracking room with a 72-channel vintage EMI Neve console.

The second room to open at complex is The Church Studios 3. This was always going to be a special writing room to cater for Paul Epworth’s projects. There is some great gear living in the studio: a Shadow Hills Industries The Equinox summing mixer and 20-channel Neve sidecar; several mic pres, EQs, and dynamics; a Yamaha electric piano; and Avid HDX2 running Pro Tools 10 HD loaded with an arsenal of plug-ins.

The studio was designed by the famous WSDG design group and built by the Miloco Builds team following the designs of John Storyk. Its control room and booth exude style and modernity. Beautiful white surfaces and panels and a pinewood floor are key to the room’s aesthetics, not to mention a state-of-the-art lighting installation that allows clients to set the preferred mood with an extensive offering of ambient shades. During daylight hours the room also benefits from natural light provided by original floor-to-ceiling arch windows.

 The Church Studios 3 build

Again designed by WSDG and constructed by Miloco Builds, The Church Studio 2 will be a brand new, high spec SSL mixing studio, and its current ETA is July. Within the pages of the June issue of Audio Media (available first week of June) you will find an interview with Storyk on the soon-to-be-launched Church Studios 2.
