ITV?s X Factor strategy to feature in Fast Turnaround TV 2012 keynote

The keynote speech at this year’s Fast Turnaround TV conference in March will be delivered by Andrew Ioannou, Director of Strategy, Technology, Platforms and Business Delivery at ITV regarding adding value to pressurised high-profile TV productions including that of the 2011 The X Factor Final.

Ioannou’s address will explore the development of an integrated strategy at the UKs largest advertising-funded broadcaster. He will outline how this integrated strategy develops in order to meet business, operational and technical needs across the business units and platforms including online, broadcast playout, content acquisition, processing, management and delivery, rights and scheduling.

ITV, founded in 1955, now employs more than 4,000 staff across its departments including technology, TV programming, online, VoD, interactive and marketing. ITV Studios also produces more hours of network television than any other UK commercial producer.

Ioannou will consider the strategic planning and development for technologies and workflows required for various high-profile live or as-live productions undertaken by ITV—this review will include a review of the The X Factor Final last year.

In addition, he will discuss how ITV is harnessing the increasing PC/TV convergence, mobile devices, social media and the utilisation of micropayments in order to add value to must-watch productions.

He will also take a review of how ITV is attempting to identify the next-generation vendor products and solutions which will enable ITV too implement a future-proof platform.

Fast Turnaround TV, organised by TVBEurope, is a trade conference providing those in the industry of live and as-live programming a more in-depth look at the production and strategy behind fast-turnaround TV encompassing large-scale productions across music, entertainment and news.

Fast Turnaround TV will take place at the Soho Hotel in London on Tuesday March 13th 2012.
