JoeCo BlackBox BBR64-Dante recorder now shipping

BlackBox recorder manufacturer JoeCo has commenced shipments of its new 64-channel BBR64-Dante recorder.

Previewed in March at the Frankfurt Prolight + Sound 2012 show, the BBR64-Dante was developed in collaboration with Audiante, creators of the Dante networking solution.

Occupying 1U of rack space, despite doubling its track count from 32 to 64, the BBR64-DANTE ranks alongside its 64-channel MADI sibling as one of the most compact large-scale audio capturing devices on the market. The recorder can connect to any Dante-enabled network device from a variety of console and converter manufacturers. In addition to recording 64 channels at standard sample rates, it can also record eight channels of analogue alongside 56 channels of Dante for capturing audience and ambience. Higher sample rate recording (88.2kHz and 96kHz) is also possible at a reduced track count.

As with all BlackBox recorders, audio is recorded in Broadcast WAV format to an external USB2 (FAT32 formatted) drive and can be imported instantly into any Mac- or PC-based digital audio workstation for re-purposing. The BBR64-DANTE also offers all the standard BlackBox recorder safety features, such as ‘Safe ‘n’ Sound Record Recovery’, as well as providing hi-resolution metering and headphone monitoring of individual/pairs of channels via internal PFL bus.
