L-Acoustics backs The Stone Roses in Dubai

Delta Sound provided an L-Acoustics audio system for The Stone Roses’ recent gig at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre (contracted by Done Events).

Delta’s team of Craig Harvey, Nadeem Ali and Al Woods provided technical support, and worked with an extensive monitor system comprised of 20 x L-Acoustics 115XT HiQ wedge monitors, SB28 sub bass units for drum fills and sidefills, along with an ARCS set-up on top – all driven by LA8 amps.

“It went really well,” commented Harvey. “Nahuel (monitor engineer for the band) was made up and he had a really good show – his first with the band. I’m glad we could make his day easier.”

The FOH PA system consisted of four hangs of L-Acoustics V-DOSC with four-way dV-DOSC downfills on each of the main hangs, 24 SB218 subs and frontfill consisting of eight dV-DOSC units.

“It’s a great venue,” agreed Harvey and Ali. “A natural amphitheatre where everyone gets a great view and a relatively intimate experience. No one is further than 65 metres from the band onstage.”

“The system performed well and the audience and production (both local and touring) left smiling. It was a great night for all involved,” Woods added.
