Last chance to vote in the 2012 European Festival Awards

Voting ends tomorrow (November 7th 2012) for the European Festival Awards, which returns to the Oosterport Congress Centre in Groningen, Holland on January 9th 2013.

The event, which also marks the opening of the Eurosonic Noorderslag conference and festival, was created to celebrate and recognise the vision, creativity and hard work which goes into producing the European festival scene each year, and will unite the continental industry under one roof. It offers an opportunity to socialise and network in the wake of a challenging and eventful year for the sector.

The winners, decided by a combination of public and industry vote, will be revealed and presented with their accolades at the gala ceremony, which features a big-name host, gourmet dinner, drinks reception, live entertainment and aftershow party.

Categories include Best Major, Medium-Sized and Small European Festival; Best New Festival; Best European Line-Up; Best Headliner and Anthem of the Summer. The top ten shortlists will be revealed on November 12th.

Other more specialised categories will be decided by an industry jury consisting of prominent booking agents, journalists and other seasoned experts.

More than 250 European Festivals representing over 30 different countries have applied to take part in this year’s awards including; Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Ukraine.
