Lesley Marr leads as ITBW 2012 programme is completed

ITFC’s Lesley Marr keynotes a programme on June 13th that includes case studies on the London Olympics, Euro 2012, BBC Sport, Coronation Street workflows, Supersport South Africa, ITN, Encompass and the BBC Journalism Portal.

Marr is senior operations director at ITFC and will chair a keynote panel session asking, as budgets are shrinking and delivery platforms are increasing, how do we make it all add up? What is that the next generation workflow that will really crack the problems?

Learn how high-speed transport and cloud infrastructures are powering high-availability media asset collection and delivery for a major Euro football tournament – explained by Bhavik Vyas, director of Cloud Services, Aspera.

ITV’s Coronation Street and Emmerdale now have file-based delivery workflows from production through to transmission and VOD distribution. Luan Thompson, lead strategist for Content Management at ITV will present the case study, introduced by Paula Bargery, vice president sales EMEA, AmberFin.

The London 2012 Olympics case study centres on NBC Highlights Factory, and its nonlinear content delivery through effective workflow automation back to viewers in the USA. Fred Wood, head of Business Development at Sony Professional Solutions of America, will explain the SOA-based media backbone workflow and process automation platform.

Charlie Cope, technical executive for BBC Sport, will reflect on a complete broadcast operation realignment – a technical case study on BBC Sport and its migration to its new home in MediaCityUK during 2011 and 2012.

Steve Luck, senior team leader at ITN, will discuss the news provider’s integration of people, operations and IT for enhanced business and reporting. How have they developed a broadcast and IT human workflow management solution for better visibility, control and reporting? SYMBOX CEO and co-founder, Amit Patel, will introduce Steve Luck.

Supersport Systems Architecture Engineer Darren Munro flies in from South Africa to tell ITBW about the Digital Delivery and Processing Project at the leading African sports provider. George Boath, director of EMEA Sales Enterprise at Telestream, will introduce this case study on a major move away from magnetic videotape.

The BBC is creating a web-based system for collaborative working, integrating all the tools a journalist needs for video, audio and web production. Paul Visuri, consulting director at Sharepoint City, will explain his company’s role in enabling ‘Collaboration tools for News production: building the BBC Journalism Portal’.

Media delivery organisation Encompass has recently embarked on an ambitious project to create a new state of the art playout centre in London.
