Masque Sound provides audio for new Joseph tour

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning Andy Blankenbuehler, the latest production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat hit the road last month with an audio package supplied by Masque Sound.

“We wanted to provide the best audio experience that we could, in working within the confines of a traveling production’s space limitations,” says David Patridge who worked with John Shivers on the show’s sound design. “In order to maximise the power and efficiency for the system, and get the most ‘bang for the buck,’ we once again showed no hesitance in turning to Masque Sound.”

With space at a premium, the designers opted to utilise the smaller-footprint Yamaha CL5 Mixing Console, along with a Yamaha CL3 for monitoring.

For the PA, Masque Sound provided an L-Acoustics dV-DOSC array that was integrated into existing speaker towers from Masque Sound’s inventory.

Masque Sound also provided its frequency coordination services for the tour. The wireless package consisted of Sennheiser SK5012 wireless mini bodypack transmitters and Sennheiser EM1046 receivers. “Masque Sound’s RF department is top notch at keeping equipment range tested and ready to go,” concludes Patridge.
