Miloco makes American move

Miloco Group has expanded into the United States, partnering with four recording studios in Los Angeles, Nashville, New York and San Francisco.

The Bunker Studio (pictured) in Brooklyn, New York is owned and run by producer/musician John Davis and producer/engineer Aaron Nevezie. Based around an SSL E series console and Pro Tools HD, The Bunker’s Studio A features a wide range of outboard, back-line, and microphones, while Studio B is home to a recently installed Neve 8058 complemented with a broad selection of gear.

Headed up by producer and mixer Rich Costey, LA’s Eldorado Recording Studios offers a 48-channel SSL XL 9000 K console, mastering-grade full-range PMC monitors and an array of external mic pres, EQs and compressors. Software consists of Pro Tools 10 and 11, Logic X, Cubase, and Ableton. There is also a secondary control room, housing a large collection of synths and keyboards, which also connects to the main live room and has its own booth.

Further up the coast in San Francisco is Studio Trilogy, featuring an SSL Room as its focal point. The 5.1-capable facility is equipped with an 80-channel SSL XL 9000K console, and its main focus is analogue processing, with a combination of new and vintage analogue gear. Described by Miloco as "the definitive mixing studio," Studio Trilogy boasts a soffit mounted Genelec 1038B monitoring system, Genelec 7070A active subwoofer and tuning and design by Walters-Storyk Design Group’s Dirk Noy and John Storyk.

Welcome To 1979, a retro recording studio just minutes from downtown Nashville measures more than 7,000 square feet over two floors. The live room is an impressive 25 x 40ft, and there are eight isolation rooms in total. Recording is done via a vintage MCI onto tape, but there is also a Pro Tools set-up for those with a digital preference. The studio is well stocked on the instrument front too, with three pianos and a range of vintage keyboards.

More Miloco USA studios are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
