NAMM 2014: Unity Audio launches The Pebble & Bam-Bam

UK manufacturer Unity Audio has announced two new products that will be launched at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim California 23-26 January.

First up, the Pebble is designed for near-field desktop applications and, like the existing Rock, Boulder, and Avalanche sub-woofer monitor models, features a sealed cabinet for fast and accurate bass reproduction. The Pebble also features the same internal cabinet Aperiodic Vent that is found on the Avalanche for extended low frequency range.

The Pebbles will be sold as a pair and will feature a 5in woofer and soft dome tweeter with 2×180 watt OEM discrete amplifiers and custom crossover.

The second offering, the Bam-Bam, is a new concept. Again, it’s a sealed Aperiodic vent cabinet design and has the same dimensions as The Pebble, but it features a single 7in woofer with the same 180 watt discrete amplifier.

The Bam-Bam is not a sub-woofer, however, and the company says it should be thought of as an expansion of The Pebble. The Bam Bam will be packaged in pairs as well and is designed to be run next to or underneath The Pebbles to transform them into a three-way system with the bass woofer housed in a separate cabinet (for eliminating unwanted low frequency response and increasing SPL).

Interconnect cables running power and audio will be supplied with the Bam-Bam package to link audio and power through from The Pebbles.
