New addition to Audio Media team

Industry veteran and studio guru Jim Evans has joined the Audio Media editorial team as Consulting Editor.

Jim was trained as a journalist at the Glasgow Sunday Post and prior to becoming the first editor of Pro Sound News Europe, was on the staff of Record Mirror and Audio Media sister title Music Week where he developed the highly successful Studio Week section. He has edited and produced in-house magazines for EMI records, APRS, and ASCAP.

He has been freelance since the mid-Eighties and continues to contribute to leading trade periodicals, in addition to his work for industry organisation, PLASA.

A longtime supporter of and contributor to Audio Media, Jim’s new role will see him liaising closely with Editor Jory MacKay and Deputy Editor Jake Young in regards to editorial content, reviews, and special projects, while also writing a monthly commentary.

“These are rapidly changing times in the worlds of publishing, pro audio, and the media in general,” says Jim. “With the new look and approach of Audio Media, we shall endeavour to reflect this with comprehensive news coverage and informative features. 2014 is set to be a busy year for everyone in our industry and Audio Media will play a key role.”

"I am very excited to start off 2014 by welcoming Jim to the Audio Media team," added Audio Media Editor Jory MacKay. "With his years of experience and contacts in the industry he will help us strengthen our position as an informative, market leading publication."
