Organisers of Australia?s Big Day Out festival partner with C3 Present

The organisers of the Big Day Out festival held in both Australia and New Zealand have announced they are to partner with the US promoter, C3 Presents.

Big Day Out has grown since its founding in 1992 to become one of the most successful festival brands. The 20th Anniversary 2012 schedule will see the Big Day Out brand rolling out at a number of cities across the ANZ region, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Perth in Australia and Auckland in New Zealand.

The new relationship with C3 Presents, who are the promoters for the Lollapalooza festival, will bring the wide-ranging experience of the Texas-based promoters to bear on the Big Day Out brand.

It is hoped that this will assist the Australian company in attracting top international artists to the region as well as in exporting home-grown talent.

“I could not have found more creatively sympathetic, commercially dynamic and like-minded partners than the guys at C3,” explained the Big Day Out founder, Ken West.

“We remain a locally passionate music business,” he continued, “but can revel and excel in what this new global relationship and its combined wealth of knowledge and experience can bring for Australian audiences and Australian and international artists.”

C3 Presents, who have helped the Lollapalooza festival to become an equally venerable festival brand since its inauguration in 1991, are looking forward to the new partnership just as eagerly.

“C3 is thrilled to be entering this creative partnership with Big Day Out,” explained Charlie Walker, a Partner at C3 Presents, “and are honoured to become a part of the outstanding 20 year legacy that the festival has created.”

The six Big Day Out events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the first festival will take place between January 20th and February 5th 2012.
