PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012 expands Free Professional Development Programme

A host of new sessions have been added to the free programme of demonstrations, seminars and tutorials taking place at PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012, on Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18 April, at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

The programme launches on Tuesday 17th with Ecler partnering Crestron to present ‘How to Interface Digital Audio Products with Control Systems,’ which will demonstrate the link between control systems, and explain how to optimise DSP performance using the EclerNET configuration tool.

Meanwhile, both the technology and philosophy behind KV2 Audio’s ‘SLA (Super Live Audio)’ experience will be explained via live demonstrations of KV2 audio products in the exhibitor demo room.

Tuesday afternoon will also see NEXO’s seminar, ‘Scale Through Modularity (STM)’ take place in the exhibitor demo room. Making its debut appearance in Frankfurt this month, the STM concept is intended to combine NEXO Alpha functionality with the technical innovation of NEXO GEO designs to deliver a new approach for the live event industry.

On Wednesday 18th RCF technical manager Mick Butler will introduce ‘The New RDNET Control Protocol’ – a management system that is designed to optimise the performance of RCF’s TT+ Theatre and Touring Active Loudspeaker Systems. Butler will demonstrate how to use the Real Time Digital Loudspeaker, Monitor and Control System, while visitors will also be familiarised with the new technology utilised within RCF’s VSA active digital Vertical Steerable Array loudspeaker systems.

Shure will also be hosting its ‘Fighting for Space’ session on Wednesday, which will be asking how we can efficiently coordinate projects with minimal RF interference in a year stacked full of Olympic and associated events.
