PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012: Neutrik to showcase opticamSWITCH

This year’s PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012 show will see Neutrik showcase its opticamSWITCH fibre optic routing system.

Taking place at the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds, on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th April, Neutrik will be presenting the opticamSWITCH from stand S-B11.

Designed to provide optimum solutions for fibre optic camera routing within broadcast studios, the device allows switching of unlimited camera positions between several studios and control rooms, ultimately eliminating the need for high-maintenance, risky matrix patch fields using SMPTE patch cables.

The device works on silica-based PLC (planar lightwave circuits) equipped with TO (thermo optic) switches, while its patent pending design is intended to ensure rugged and safe non-blocking fibre plus camera power switching without any moving parts.

Furthermore, the LAN-based remote control software is designed to simplify work, shows switching and camera status, and enables broadcast production automation.
