PL+S 2012: FaitalPRO to unveil new ferrite products

Italian loudspeaker manufacturer FaitalPRO is set to unveil a host of new products at this year’s Prolight + Sound show in Messe, Frankfurt.

Exhibiting from Hall 8.0/Booth B48, FaitalPRO will be showcasing a number of its new products, as well as the European unveiling of its latest ferrite range. Earlier this year the company announced the official FaitalPRO ferrite speaker launch at the NAMM 2012 show in Anaheim, California, presenting over 30 brand new models.

At this year’s Prolight + Sound show we can expect to see a number of new FaitalPRO entries in the high frequency area, two brand new ferrite compression drivers, as well as the much anticipated “bullet driver”.

The HF105 is a 91mm, ferrite compression driver – equipped with a 37mm voice coil and adopts a Ketone polymer diaphragm. Weighing in at 1.1 kilos, the HF105 is the ferrite version of the HF104, carrying over its mechanical and acoustical characteristics.

Another new FaitalPRO ferrite driver – the HF 107 (the HF105’s big brother) – will be on show in Frankfurt, this time with a 44mm voice coil and yet again a Keton Polymere diaphragm. With a performance of 109 dB and a frequency range from 800 Hz to 20KHz, the unit is suitable for high power, two way line arrays.

Completing this year’s FaitalPRO high frequency offerings is the FD371 Bullet Driver, which incorporates a made to measure, front fitted aluminum horn. This is designed to provide the ideal solution when you’re looking for precise directivity and high power output, such as in night club applications.

FaitalPro’s presence at this year’s Prolight + Sound show will see both ferrite and neodymium speaker and compression drivers exhibited side by side.

Commenting on the company’s emphasis on ferrite at this year’s show, Flavio Naggi, overseas sales manager, FaitalPRO, said: “We are offering our clients an alternative based on new, soft and refined acoustic tonalities: the current product range will remain and the new families with a ferrite heart will join them to complete a now very extensive catalogue.”

However, Flavio also pointed out that the new ferrite products are more than just a more economical option to their neodymium counterparts, insisting that these items can also offer a number of audio benefits.

“It is important to note that the new ferrite loudspeaker families are not just ‘low-cost options’ compared to the neodymium series,” he added. “They are products for those who put a lot of passion into their work, that have similar performance potential, but whose magnet assemblies in ferrite behave in a different way.”
