PL+S 2013: Peavey holding birthday bash for MediaMatrix line

Peavey Commercial Audio is urging members of the audio industry to join the company in celebrating 20 years of its MediaMatrix DSP technology at this year’s Prolight + Sound.

According to the firm, MediaMatrix truly pioneered computer programmable DSP and audio networking technology, bringing a scalable solution to the market that set a high standard for installed sound and control around the world.

MediaMatrix has evolved significantly since its inception in 1993, when it was first deployed as part of a major installation at the US Senate. Since then, MediaMatrix, which is now featured in over 10,000 projects worldwide, became the first ever licensee of CobraNet and the first to use the protocol in an installed environment.

The technology has been installed at world-renowned venues, including Wembley Stadium, the Beijing National Stadium, and London’s Heathrow Airport, and has been used for a string of prestigious international events, such as the Sydney Olympics in 2000, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. It was also utilised for one of the first ever large-scale Dante installations at Goethe University, Frankfurt in 2011.

The celebration gets underway from 6:30pm on Thursday April 11th at Frankfurt Messe’s Agora Stage, which will be equipped entirely with Peavey equipment, including Versarray loudspeakers, Crest Audio amplification, NION and Digitool processors.

If you’re heading out to Prolight + Sound, you can find the firm in Hall 8 (F80) and Hall 4 (C08).
