Prolight + Sound: Funktion-One to debut products

Funktion-One will introduce the PSM318 DJ Monitor, Resolution 3 SH Evo, and Resolution 3 EH Evo to the show floor for the first time at Prolight + Sound 2014.

The British loudspeaker manufacturer will occupy two areas at the show – its stand at Hall 8 G94 and its demo space in Room Dialog (which you’ll find on the second floor, between Hall 8 and Hall 9).

Attendees are invited to meet the Funktion-One team in both locations. The demo room, particularly, offers an opportunity to audition the full range of products and talk to their designers – Tony Andrews and John Newsham.

Funktion-One’s PSM318 DJ Monitor has already found its way into some applications. It’s been installed in Space in Ibiza, Sound in LA, Output in New York, and has been used at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival and Serbia’s Exit Festival.

Each two-part PSM318 comprises a new double 18in bass reflex enclosure (PSM318L) providing very strong near-field sub-bass and a separate triple concentric enclosure for the rest of the frequency spectrum (PSM318H). The two enclosures join with a clever quick-latch system that provides simple angle adjustment for different monitor positions and DJ heights.

The Resolution 3 SH Evo and EH Evo are the latest editions to Funktion-One’s Resolution Series. They are the next generation of the segmented products that are derived from the full-bodied Resolution 3. Both new products have an enhanced vocal presence due to the substitution of a 1.4in compression driver for the previous 1in in the earlier Res 3 models.

The R3SH Evo and R3EH Evo both use the mid-high section of the Resolution 3. While the RS3SH Evo is a skeletal loudspeaker, the R3EH Evo is enclosed in a neat birch ply cabinet. Both speakers offer high output and controlled directivity and can be used in a wide range of applications, which include providing additional coverage to a Resolution 3 system, supplying the high power mid-high section of a multi-way PA system or in demanding speech based applications, such as theatrical voice reinforcement.

All three debutant products recently combined at Space, Moscow – a 9,000 square metre coliseum-shaped club, spread across three levels, offering 18 bars and boasting four separate areas.
