SSE installs Crestron AV control systems in London venues

SSE Audio Group has announced the recent completion of two installation projects utilising the Crestron range of AV control systems.

The announcement came following the installations at the Kanaloa – a Polynesian themed bar at Croydon’s Tiger Tiger – and a Conference Centre in the basement of one of Balls Brothers’ sites in the City, Minster Exchange.

Furthermore, the Minister Exchange project marked SSE’s first installation using Crestron AV control systems.

Mark Hatfield, SSE installation project manager explained: “We used the Crestron system to link a variety of audio and video inputs, including projectors, laptops, mics, radio mic, iPod docks, three conference audio systems and a DJ audio system, so it could be operated through one simple control interface, in this case a wireless, proprietary touchscreen.”

He continued: “The touchscreen can be used from any of the three conference rooms and it also allows the user to link the systems in rooms together for larger meetings and conferences.”

SSE project director Emma Bigg, also added: “The touchscreen control is for the venue staff however clients using the space also need to access some basic functions so we have installed Crestron Cameo Keypads to allow them to be able to control the volume and the projector. The system is complex but the Crestron system makes running a venue like this much simpler for non-technical staff.

“We are delighted that we’ve had the opportunity to work with Crestron,” she continued. Our installation department is growing fast, and we hope that we will develop more new business for these impressive, easy to operate control systems over the coming months.”
