Studiocare unveils new purpose-built, energy-efficient HQ

Audio equipment stockist, wholesaler and distributor Studiocare has moved into new purpose-built premises, having outgrown its original home in Liverpool.

The company has spent the last 11 years at Century Building on the city’s Brunswick Dock, originally trading out of a single unit before spreading into two additional adjacent spaces, totalling 8,000 sq ft.

In its new home on Evans Road (pictured), close to John Lennon Airport, Studiocare has increased its floor space to 18,000 sq ft., with roof-mounted solar panels and an advanced internal lighting system also helping Studiocare achieve its aim of becoming a more environmentally friendly company.

Thanks to these advancements the building has successfully been built to a BREEAM “Excellent” standard, which relates to sustainable building design with an emphasis on low-carbon and low-impact design to minimise energy demands.

The increased space will allow Studiocare to hold more stock of their distributed lines, as well as products from other high-end manufacturers. According to the firm, its Hire & Service departments will be able to operate more efficiently, and there are also plans in place to add a second-floor demo room and studio in the future.

The move places Studiocare closer to the major motorway networks and therefore other key cities such as Manchester, Birmingham and London, as well.

“This move represents a major step forward for Studiocare Professional Audio, having continually outgrown and expanded our current premises this dedicated building will provide us with the space to streamline and increase the efficiency of all our departments," said Studiocare sales director Rick Whalley.

"The increased stocking ability will also enable us to better serve our customers with an expanded stock inventory and allow us to continue being competitive within the pro audio market.”
