Summer NAMM set to go ahead in July 2021, Joe Lamond confirms

Summer NAMM is on. That’s the official word from the organisers who today confirmed that the show would go on, running 15-17 July 2021.

The 2020 event was unsurprisingly cancelled as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, while 2020’s Winter NAMM became the virtual ‘Believe in Music’ week.

NAMM is working closely with the City of Nashville and local authorities to devise a plan that will enable the this summer’s show to go ahead.

Along with a new layout with wider aisles and more outdoor networking areas, physical distancing rules will be in place. Face coverings will be required, while temperature screening for attendees and sanitiser stations will also be in place. The show will also feature more touch-free experiences to minimise physical contact.

NAMM is working with the city’s Good to Go hospitality safety program which was created to help businesses across all industries to implement healthy and safety guidelines.

Confirming this summer’s event, NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond said: “No one can predict the future of course, but we have heard from so many of you that our industry needs this opportunity to gather in person to conduct business and attend education and training sessions, and to inspire each other.”

Lamond also confirmed that planning is already underway for Winter NAMM in January 2022.
