Toby Alington joins API as monthly columnist

Audio Pro International is proud to announce that award-winning industry veteran Toby Alington is to join our team as a monthly columnist as of January 2012.

With 25 years’ experience in the industry, Alington, who picked up the API Award for Studio Engineer of the Year at this year’s PLASA event, has built up a wealth of knowledge and expertise in live recording, studio recording and broadcast, and has been described by The Times as “a veteran of music television.”

Alington has recorded many of the world’s finest performers in every corner of the globe. Responsible for the BRIT Awards soundtrack for the last 17 years, he also looks after the annual MTV Europe Music Awards and Classical BRIT Awards. Toby has produced albums and 5.1 DVD soundtracks for countless pop and classical artists, and is regularly called on to handle complex multi-artist live broadcasts, including the recent Children in Need Rocks broadcast live from MENA.

He works at Richmond Studios Productions in Twickenham, with his self-designed 5.1 audio suite, in which he mixes and post-produces soundtracks of all types.

We are honoured to welcome him on board and look forward to his monthly contributions.
