Trevor Horn opens Sarm Studios for charity ‘Yard Sale’

Sarm Studios in Notting Hill, London – owned by producer Trevor Horn – held a one-off ‘Yard Sale’ on Sunday (August 18th).

The studio was looking to shift a raft of old audio gear to make way for an upcoming period of renovation, The Kensington & Chelsea Chronicle has reported.

Plans are now in place to transform Sarm’s building into a complex of residential apartments, offices and recording suites. The redevelopment process will also see Horn extend the use of his iconic recording venue through the creation of a new site, which will be known as Sarm Music Village, on Ladbroke Grove. The work is expected to take three years to complete.

Two underground studios will remain on Basing Street, with the space above used for offices and nine luxury apartments.

All proceeds from the event are going to the Fr. Jim Teeling, Trevor Horn CBE and Jill Sinclair Trust Fund, a charity for children in need of aid in the Philippines.
