Universal Audio adds to UAD powered plug-ins platform

Universal Audio has added two new plug-ins with the updated version 7.4 software for its UAD powered plug-in platform and Apollo Audio Interfaces.

First up, the UA-developed Fairchild Tube Limiter Collection is a new recreation of both the legendary Fairchild 670 and 660 Limiters, modelling the complete electronic path of the devices including tube-powered amplifier and transformer sections.

An upgrade on the 2004 UA release of the Fairchild 670 legacy plug-in, the new collection accurately emulates the circuit model of Ocean Way Studio’s ‘golden reference’ units and offers digital only features such as side chain filtering, dry/wet parallel blend, and headroom controls.

Also new for UA users is the Maag EQ4 plug-in developed in partnership with Brainworx.

The EQ4 was original designed by Cliff Maag to provide transparency and top-end presence while maintaining a true, natural sound. Based on his classic NTI EQ3 from the 1980s, the EQ4 features Maag’s five-position Air Band control, a major component to the vocal mix chain on huge albums such as Madonna’s Ray of Light and Celine Dion’s Taking Chances.
