VDC celebrates 25 years in business with Abbey Road event

VDC Trading, manufacturer of Van Damme cables, held a party to celebrate its 25th anniversary at Abbey Road’s legendary Studio 2 this week.

Co-founded in 1987 by Niall Holden, the company has been involved with some of the biggest projects in the UK in the past two years, supplying cables for Ministry of Sound, Saracens Rugby Ground, Silverstone racetrack, The Olympic Games Opening and Closing ceremonies, The Queens Diamond Jubilee, Tottenham F.C’s Training ground, We Will Rock You Live Tour and Westfield Stratford.

The firm was responsible for recabling the PA at the Royal Albert hall, as well as updating the audio systems at Wimbledon Tennis Club this year.

Outside the audio and broadcast industries, VDC has reported a growth in demand for its marine business – providing equipment for a number of ‘super yachts’ worldwide – as well as an increase in interest from clients in the medical, industrial and automotive sectors. It continues to work with some of the best-known bands in the music industry as well.

The company also recently unveiled its new fibre optic laboratory, along with a ‘YouSpec’ system on its website, which allows customers to design their own cables ready for delivery.

More than 130 invited guests, including clients, partner companies and the press were treated to performances from several musicians and comedians on the night, and got the chance to check out the control room where much of The Beatles’ material was recorded.
