VIDEO: ISE 2012: Roland boosts streaming-ready line-up with VR-3 A/V Mixer

Roland Systems Group is currently showcasing its new VR-3 A/V Mixer at the ISE 2012 show in Amsterdam.

The fully integrated audio mixer and video switcher, which is intended for use in live production and web streaming applications, also incorporates preview monitors and a streaming-ready USB output. As a USB Video/Audio class device for web streaming or recording with a PC/Mac, the VR-3 is built to simplify web streaming via USB connection to a computer, which is running a live streaming service such as USTREAM.

Roland’s VR-3 is also designed to be extremely portable – measuring the same size as an A4 piece of paper and weighing 2kg. Furthermore, the reduction in hardware equipment, set-up time and connection complexity renders it suitable for use in schools, public meetings, corporate events, sports or production live to the web.

The four-channel (four Mono (XLR or ¼”) and two stereo mixable audio) video switcher/ mixer also comes with a built-in stereo microphone for mixing in ambient sound, as well as a built-in scan converter, allowing the PC input to be mixed with other video sources. A touch screen interface also aims to provide an easy way to switch video sources as well as to access menus or to view four inputs and the output at one time.

Digital audio effects include Noise Gate, EQ, Reverb, Noise Suppressor, enhancer and master Lo/Hi filters, whilst compositing video effects include keying, split screen and picture-in-picture.
