Air Mastering renamed The Airlab

Kingston-based Air Mastering has been relaunched under a new name – The Airlab.

The decision was made as part of a continued brand expansion, and to avoid the company being confused with a similar service offered by a well-known London recording studio.

The Airlab is run by experienced mastering engineer Jerome Schmitt (pictured), who has been involved in music production and sound engineering for more than 20 years. Founded in 2006, his company has been highly successful with its online and attended mastering services, having worked with a number of major artists and record companies.

“Rather than have to keep explaining that my company is a completely separate entity, and to keep the long established reputation that I am proud of, I have opted for a relaunch of my mastering services and to add online mixing to our services,” Schmitt commented.

Schmitt’s gear list includes a variety of equipment from Prism Sound, Maselec, TC Electronic, Thermionic Culture, Summit Audio and Avalon, as well as a high-end PMC studio monitoring system with Bryston amplification.
