BBC Music Introducing announces Amplify event

SME London and BBC Music Introducing are joining forces this October to create a brand new music event called Amplify.

More than 250 artists and music industry figures will be part of the new event aimed at aspiring artists, musicians, producers, engineers and execs looking to break into the music business.

Staged at London Excel between 6-8 October and timed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of BBC Music Introducing, Amplify will for the first time offer budding bands, musicians and more the chance to hear directly from the experts on everything from how to tweak tracks, write a hit record, market an album or even launch a label.

Based around The Amp – the hub and hangout space of the event – Amplify will bring together a host of stages and events, providing attendees with insider tips from the UK’s leading producers, heads of music, labels and commissioners via more than 150 talks and hands-on workshops, while the all-new BBC Music Introducing Advice Clinic will offer the opportunity to have tracks critiqued by industry experts.

There will be exclusive speaker sessions with some of the stars that have thrived via BBC Music Introducing over the last decade as well. Sessions confirmed so far include: ‘How to write a hit record’, ‘From my bedroom to Ibiza’, ‘Grime is the new DIY’, ‘How to get a million streams’ and ‘From garage to venue stage.’

Amplify will also celebrate the resurgence of vinyl that has seen sales rocket by 36% already this year at the Vinyl Marketplace, and showcase the latest emerging talent on the Introducing Bandstands. Plus, there will be an array of more than 150 music and lifestyle brands that will offer the industry’s latest products and services.

Industry figures and DJs announced as speakers at the event will include Annie Mac, Jo Whiley, Steve Lamacq, MistaJam, Jamie Cullum and Phil Taggart, with more names to be announced. Tickets are on sale now with a limited amount of first release tickets available at £26. Anyone booking through the Amplify ticketing partner, The Ticket Factory will get 25% off train tickets with Virgin Trains on the West Coast mainline.
