Ben Hammond handed consulting role with Audio-Technica

Audio-Technica has announced that live sound engineer Ben Hammond (Deaf Havana, Young Guns, The Veronicas, Atreyu, Saxon) is to work with the company in the role of live sound and touring ambassador.

Hammond’s consulting role will see him champion the company’s key products and distributed lines, specifically Allen & Heath’s new dLive console.

A long-time Allen & Heath user, Hammond will begin spearheading dLive training and demonstration for UK customers and engineers, a move that Audio-Technica says will being it even closer to the live sound industry and provide industry professionals with a level of training, demonstration and support in line with their working requirements.

Hammond will continue to tour with a host of artists while supporting Audio-Technica’s existing team, which consists of product and training specialists Rodrigo Thomaz, Thomas Griffiths and Alex Jann.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Audio-Technica on Allen & Heath in my new role. I’ve relied on the products from both companies while out on the road over the last few years, so I have a real understanding of their strengths and how to get the best from them," said Hammond.

“The new dLive mixing system is an incredibly exciting new development from Allen & Heath – by far the most powerful live mixer they have ever created. So I’m really pleased to be in a position to demonstrate all it can do to other working engineers over the coming months.”

Audio-Technica’s marketing manager Tom Harrold added: “Ben’s input on the Audio-Technica and Allen & Heath brands over the past five and three years respectively has been vital, providing us with valuable insights to aid product development and touring knowledge to complement that of our internal staff. We’re delighted that Ben will be working alongside us and encourage anyone interested in finding out more about our live sound offerings to contact him directly.”
