Blue Microphones shows off new multi-million dollar studio

Blue Microphones has unveiled a $3.5 million home recording studio designed in collaboration with acclaimed producer Jack Joseph Puig.

The studio occupies the top floor of a $20 million estate in Santa Monica, California, created by House of Rock – a Los Angeles-based entertainment company, which puts on various musical events in a luxury rock-themed house.

“This space was built to inspire artists to create,” said Tyler Barth, vice president of business development and artist relations at Blue Microphones. “This studio is at the forefront of the music industry’s evolution toward a more personalised environment, where artists can work in the privacy of their home at any time of the day or night and have cutting edge technology at their finger tips.”

After four years of being the lead curator for the studios at Esquire House – a similar project hosted by Esquire Magazine – Blue Microphones was asked to provide a service once again for the House of Rock. The studio also features recording equipment and technologies from other brands such as SSL, Vintage King, Audio Perceptions, Fender, Waves, JSX Audio, Dell and Skullcandy.

The facility offers the complete line of premium microphones from Blue, vintage equipment from Vintage King, the world’s first wraparound SSL Duality console, custom Barefoot speakers and a Gretsch drum kit that was provided by Drum Doctors.

The entire house is hot-synced with mic cable, fibre optics and digital lines, so that artists can record anywhere, including the ‘great room’, library, or outdoor stage.

“Each space offers a different acoustical environment,” stated Jack Joseph Puig, who has worked with the likes of U2, Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones and The Black Eyed Peas. “With its books and art, the library will sound thick, warm and intimate, with no echo; the great room, with its high vaulted ceiling, means the sound will be bright and splashy.”
