Butch Vig and Billy Bush on the Waves Abbey Road Collection

Butch Vig, the multi-platinum selling producer and drummer of rock band Garbage, sat down with his engineer Billy Bush to talk about how they are using the new Waves Abbey Road plug-in collection.

The collection was recently launched and features a number of plug-ins developed in association with Abbey Road including the REDD consoles, the RS56 Passive EQ (‘the Curve Bender’), and the J37 Tape (which we reviewed recently and you can read here), as well as the vintage King’s Microphones and the Reel ADT.

On the REDD consoles, Bush commented: "The REDD desk has always been one of those things that I’ve always wanted to get my hands on and try. It’s like a mythical beast. So to have that ability to try not one, not two, but three different versions of the REDD desk is a really fun and creative thing to hear how each one distorts a little different, what the headroom’s like, how the EQ sounds. And how overall it colours the sound of whatever you put it on."
